Guy Mitchard and Carol Henry are the foster parent coordinators for Healing Paws for Warriors. They became involved with the organization after meeting a veteran and his dog out in the community and were drawn to the mission. They have been actively involved in animal rescue for many years, so this was a natural fit.

Guy is a life-time self employed tradesman. He was born and raised in the Midwest, lived in New Mexico and the northwest, but is here in Florida to stay. Guy was fortunate to be blessed with one adult son. Carol has worked in child protection for the majority of her career and is currently working in forensics. She also was born in the Midwest and has lived in Arizona and California, moving here to Florida about 25 years ago. She has one wonderful adult daughter. Together, Guy and Carol have numerous personal pets and an ever-changing number of foster pets.

 

As foster parent coordinators, Guy and Carol are responsible for reviewing foster applications, meeting with and ensuring the compatibility of the applicant and HP4Ws program, and on-going support to existing foster parents.
