Kathy Halliday-Fields

Kathryn “Kathy” Halliday-Fields is on the Board of Directors for Healing Paws for Warriors (HP4Ws); providing non-profit organizational guidance.

Currently, Kathy is a Health Educator with Florida Blue.  She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years with a background in critical care. She spent 10+ years working on Eglin AFB both as a Health Educator and a Disease Manager working with both active duty military, retirees and their family members.

Kathy has been a part of a military family on many levels-- a daughter, spouse, and mother.  Kathy is affectionately known as a “military brat”; moving every 3 years while growing up.  Her family is known for their military patriotism—her father served 26+ years including a Vietnam tour, grandfather in the Navy and Uncle in the Air Force.  For over 18 years, Kathy was a military spouse; supporting the home front during multiple TDYs and deployments.  Her 3 children are also leaning toward military careers-- oldest son is a pilot with the Navy, daughter a soon-to-be-doctor within the Air Force, and youngest soon to graduate college with a military perspective.

Healing Paws for warriors has made a difference not only in the lives of the service members that they have touched, but also in their families. Many times a child has no concept of why mom or dad is struggling so a service dog often gives back just a little of family normalcy. I want to give just a little bit back to those that have sacrificed so much.  Kathy has a Master’s in Health Promotion/Worksite Wellness and a Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN from Florida State).  She resides in the Fort Walton Beach area along with her 2 rescues labs—Nelson and Nera.
