Valynn Helms is on the Healing Paws for Warriors Board of Directors, providing non-profit
organizational guidance.

Valynn has been a HP4Ws volunteer since 2017, advocating for veterans in need and the positive impact of HP4Ws dog rescue. She has also served in the HP4Ws Foster Dog Program.

 

After 32 years, Valynn retired from the State of Alabama, Department of Revenue; serving her last 3 years as Director of Collection Services Division. Valynn has served on numerous committees for the governor, commissioner, region and nation. Such service earned numerous awards and acknowledgements to include Revenue’s Employee of the Year and President’s Award from the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administers.

With a bachelor’s degree in business administration (with emphasis in accounting) from Troy University and master’s degree in public administration from Auburn University at Montgomery, and governmental service, she brings varied and valuable experience to the HP4Ws board.

 

Valynn is married to a 24-year Air Force veteran, Lynn Watkins, and they have 3 dogs, Bimini(rescue), Huey (Lynn’s retired service dog) and Cadence (Lynn’s current service dog).
